I was in the same boat that you are right now. My wife wanted an mp3 player, and I was totally clueless as to what was what. In the end, after some good advice from YA, I decided to go with the 8 GB Ipod nano. From what I can tell, the Ipod is the easiest to use, and it also has flash memory, and not a little hard drive, so it will never skip, and there are elss moving parts to break. It is also simple to use. After I bought my wife hers, I had Itunes up and running and had songs on her Ipod within a halfhour. I liked it so much, I ended up buying one too. As for the memory, I think that 8GB is PLENTY, but am still kinda kicking myself for not coughing up the extra $50 for the 30 GB one. Good luck, and enjoy your new MP3 player when you get it.
