I'm not a dentist but I've had similar problems corrected!!
My front teeth were erroding because I had used them to replace the chewing from my molars .. so they really looked bad (crooked & decayed).
I had root canals and crowns placed on them and replaced a few with bridges .. I now have a straight smile and my teeth look so good I love to smile now!!
I'll be honest it hurt like hell but if you get the right dentist who can do a root canal in one appointment you'll be fine.
I don't believe it was sweets that did me in, I think that it was a combo of bad water, no fluroide and bad dental genes!! You'll be fine.
