Anyone majoring or taking classes of Economics?

I'm a first year in a liberal arts college, and I was wondering if anyone can give me an insight of how the Econimics courses are, if I can handle it, and if it is the right major for me.

First of all, I hate math and charts. I love writing, public speaking, learning foreign languages, memorizing terms, and advising people in their problems. I can handle memorizing an entire book the night before an exam and I can handle writing an 8-page paper the night before it is due. However, when it comes to math, I can get stuck on a problem for over an hour. I really do not enjoy analyzing numbers and theories confuse the hell out of me. Sure, I'm a type of person that works well under stress, but seriously, words I can deal with, not numbers.

From the information I have given about my likes and dislikes, can someone please offer me a more reasonable major? I'm only considering Economics because my mother is forcing me to take it, saying I will regret it if I don't. Help?
