I am very curious where in the U.S. you are. If this is socially acceptable where you live, how do other people word these invitations? I wracked my brain but could not come up with anything.

The sticking point is that it's not only after the wedding, but it's after the reception. So you're having them arrive after the cake has been cut and dinner was served (correct me if I'm wrong). Won't it look and feel like they arrived late to a party? So you have to word it specifically so that they know they can't expect anything to eat, just dancing, and I've never heard of that.

I'm not trying to be judgmental, I only posted because I'm curious where you are and how this whole scenario would work. I don't have a good answer for you, sorry.
