| Anthropology / same-sex marriage in canada according to structural functionalism? This is for my social science homework and I'm having trouble with a few questions. First I have to outline the type of social change that bringing in same-sex marriage in Canada is (structural, institutional, or on involving practices and beliefs). I have just started the course, but could it not be all three really? The main thing I have to do is use the theory of structural functionalism to analyze the change in attitudes towards same-sex marriage in Canada, and say what aspects of our culture and belief system have led to this. That one I don't really know how to do at all lol. Then at the end I have to say what aspects of our culture and belief system will change because of same-sex marriage. The only thing I can think of for that is that the legalization of same-sex marriage is only a steeping stone to more left-wing cultural values and ideologies.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
