Try getting your mesh from an Art shop, or maybe even a garden centre. You will need some extra wire (you can buy this on a reel) to join ends together - the wire used for joining is generally quite thin. If you can, it would be a good idea to make a mould of a female manakin which you can remove then build your wire mesh onto it.
