299 is pretty high but if your not passing ketones it wont have a dangerous dangerous effect. however, if your 299 the whole day or around that then most prob u r passing ketones due to not being active. salt doesnt have much of an effect on your blood sugar its mainly the foods your eating with the salt which has the carbs. u should have urine ketone strips to check your ketones and u should be checking your blood sugar ever 2 hours or so. good luck
