Additionally, you may think of chronic wasting and progressive neurological disorders i.e. ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrigs disease et al. As well, HIV infection can have serious (if not fatal) pulmonary and neurologic sequelae. I am sure there are others.
