| caring about religious matters is very important in expanding your boundries and becoming more cultured. it can lead to alot of exciting discussions and life altering revelations. it should most definately be applauded.
it should not be applauded, however, when a religious discussion turns into a closed minded "im right and your wrong" session. when somebody from another religion or culture stops having a discussion and starts saying that thier side is correct and the others is not and wont even listen to the other party, this should be looked down upon.
it unfortunately happens far too often in religious conversations, especially among believers (not just of christianity, but any religion). for example i was having a discussion with a friend of mine about christianity and some of the churches dark past came up and she started chopping up the conversation and wouldnt even admit that protestants didnt come first!
so non believers, be you agnostic or atheist, open your mind and learn. believers, stand by your faith, teach others, but be willing to learn and accept as well. |
