Shari has a spectacular aura about
I wasn't in all that long to rise up the ladder, due to a skin
allergy from GI soap of all things. So I was addressed as,
PFC (Private Ist Class) with my last name following. In signing
out for something, we just signed our last name. You don't
address anyone as "Sir", or "Ma'am" (female officer) unless they are an officer, with Lieutenant and above status. Nor do you salute anyone lower than that. I believe now, you address the first sergeants, with "first sergeant", compared to years
ago, it was just "sergeant". But you wouldn't address their last name, just their rank. At all times, you address their rank and status with respect, and show it. This was in the WAC's,
before it was integrated into the regular army after Vietnam.
