Well the Navy is no different from any other professional organization in that they would rather promote from within, which is why there are far more piplines to go from enlisted to officer than there are to go from civilian to officer. This is certainly not a bad route you are considering, however before you decide to go enlisted, speak with your recruiter and insist she or she put you in contact with the Officer programs folks and look at the Bachelors Degree Completion Program or BDCP.

without sitting down with you and doing the interview myself, I do not know if you qualify or not, but you may.

Look at this program, if you qualify I would suggest pursuing it. If not, by all means Enlisted to Officer is a very good option. Good Luck
