Joshua D has a spectacular aura about
I just went through the process. In order for me to answer you question I need to know a couple of things.

Have you allready been drilling with a Reserve Unit?

When did you go to MEPs?

What MOS are you going for?

What is your rank?

Ok well since you have not joined an actually Reserve Unit
changing to Active will not be hard at all. If you had joined a Reserve Unit you would have had to get a 368 and 4657 forms filled out and that process sometimes can be quick but ussally a long process. Since you want to change your mind before basic and you are 30 you will have no problem. If you watied untill after basic more than likely you would have had to wait up to 6 months before changing over.

The reason i asked what rank you were is because if you were comming in as an E-5 they would have had to do a waiver on your rank.

You should have no problem changing over its good that your doing it before you go to basic. After basic the rules completely change.

As far as Fort Jackson, I myself went to Fort Benning however I have heard from other people that Fort Jackson is one of easiest if not the easiest. The reson is you will be going through with females. Anytime you conduct training with females the training will not be as tough.

You should be fine.

Good luck with everything.
