As a weightlifter, how can I reduce or eliminate arm soreness caused by...

...allergy shots? I'm a frequent weightlifter and about 6 weeks into a once-a-week allergy shot regimen. About two weeks ago, one of my arms was a bit sore after the shots. I tried a few exercises in the gym that day but called it quits because of soreness.

I told my allergy shot-giver and she said it could be the contents of the shot (allergens) causing soreness. I doubt it's caused by the needle puncturing my arm because it never caused soreness before and I usually can barely feel the needle.

We tried icing the sore arm at the allergy office and it worked while there, but was still sore the next day.

I have lifted weights despite arm soreness but it isn't pleasant and feels like it affects my strength.

Does anyone have/had this problem and figured out a way to solve it? I need both weightlifting and allergy shots for wellbeing.
