I'm not lacking in education, but I keep reading this question and don't know what you are asking. Why shouldn't education occupy a special place in any policy? The big problem, as I see it, is that government interferes with the system too much. It used to work better, before "no child left behind" junk was added and is ineffective. If they'd let teachers teach the curriculum, instead of to tests, scores would improve.
