So.. a recruiter contacted me and I had a meeting with him and he is telling me that if I join I don't have to go to Iraq to fight in a war or something, if I pick a position like computer tech or something that is not related to combat..

Is this true? because all my friend's are telling me it is just a bunch of BS..
I knew it was too good to be true, the guy told me that I would be stationed locally and didn't have to go anywhere else. I even asked him directly would I have to go to the war if necessary.. he responded "why would the government send out non-combatants to iraq"
