johnec4 has a spectacular aura about
calories = energy. you need calories to survive. you you need to use more calories than you take in each day and you will lose weight.

there are different types of carbs. simple carbs (e.g. sugar, corn syrup, etc) are not good and it would be wise to try and avoid them

complex carbs are better for you, such as whole wheat.
