I have thunk on this. The base ratios that govern lots of functions all revolve around a strange similarity to, or relationship with, pi. The Golden Ratio, the Rule of 78s, Root Mean Squared...they all have a 1/3-2/3 thing going on. I can generalize, because I am a simpleton. In art, generality makes for broader universal appeal, which is a good thing. Not very helpful in accounting or rocket telemetry. TD
