Next: as far as participation, just do what everyone else does. It's not complicated and it's a lot of fun. People usually take turns reading in English, so enjoy that--don't worry about not being able to pronounce all of the names, no one expects you to. Yes, a kosher wine would make a perfectly fine gift. Make sure it says "Kosher for Passover", however. The simplest one to get is Manischewitz (it's in a square bottle), about $4 a bottle. Everyone loves it and its consumption is almost universal. If not that, then a bottle or two of gefilte fish--again, it should say "kosher for Passover" on it. About $3 - $8 a bottle.
