navy_lady337 has a spectacular aura about
I'm in the navy, and the navy has made it pretty good these days. For the past two years the navy has been just picking people to go over there, or you can volunteer for an overseas billet if one was open. Nowadays, you have a better chance of not going over there because the navy has put the billets on a system where people that are up for orders can choose to go there when they are done with their present duty station. i think overall you have a 80% chance of not going over there, but it's not guaranteed. but i would say the navy is not over there as much as the army and the marines.

and for the person that said only pilots are over there is obviously not in the navy because i know people that are in different rates(jobs) that are not pilots, and they are over there serving in iraq and afghanistan. So if you want to join the navy i would definitely give it a go. and if you're on sea duty, you won't even go to iraq! but talk to a recruiter and he'll explain the process a little better.
