I would be averse
To a world without verse.
It wouldn't be home
If it had not a poem.
I'd say doggonit
There's no song or sonnet,
No twin or quintuplet
To write me a couplet
It would be swell, Oh gee!
If I heard an elegy.
But I don't have an urge
To pen a sad dirge.
Just one more time.
Let it rhyme, let it rhyme.
