| Why do so many people in the Democratic party hold fundamental doubts about the electability of Obama? It looks like if the Democrats--that is the Democratic higher-ups--are hell bent on giving the nomination to Obama, they will be shooting themselves in the foot by pushing a guy who many believe--rightly or wrongly--is fundamentally flawed and should not represent the Democratic party. The biggest problem for Obama is his radical past and the perception, which is not totally misplaced, of his anti-Americanism. This is coming not from the far right, but from many people in the Democratic party. He is so far left and his values are so out of line with most decent Americans that many of us democrats will have no choice but to cross over and vote for McCain. It is really that bad. Too bad. This should have been the year for Democrats, but not with Obama propped up as the putative leader of the party. |
