BGR has a spectacular aura about
Your best bet is a dorm room from the college many colleges. If there is no dorm room look in in craigslist for rooms you can rent.

If having roomates is a problem look for rentals nearby .You will need to show proof of income or may be able to get your parents to cosign without a job.

Also be careful when renting. If you can afford it go to a corporate apartment that is advertised in a magazine like forrent.com. They are business and will treat renters much better then someone renting a basement. Also do not sign a lease with anyone unless you can trust them. better to go month to month somewhere if you can with roomates. A bad roomate can ruin your credit.

You will also need money for deposits (apartment, power, water, gas etc) . which can easily add into the thousands. some places have specials and to entice you to move in so ask for them when looking.
