Yes! As much as many of us parents don't want to think of the possibility of our children being sexually active until 16 or older, the younger that you receive an education the more effective it will be. For one this, like you have pointed out, kids wants to start having sex alot younger than 16! Many of my friends at 12 were already practicing some type of sexual act! In addition to this however, it makes sense to teach sex at a younger age when our teenagers will have plenty of time to allow the knowledge to sink in and to ask more questions, clarify information and simply be better prepared. If we wait too long not only do we miss teaching important safe sex skills to many teens but we also are not allowing for enough time for the consistant teaching necessary to entirely learn about sex, just as it is necessary to have alot of practive and teaching on any other subject.
