| Well technically a marriage in another country is not recognizable by law here. Unless you've actually submitted papers and have used it to submit taxes for example or property taxes or any other legal notice in this country you might not have to recognize it yourself but then that would be a morals issue! And of course a chance that your wife would show up someday and declare you as a bigamist. Also you can go and have the marriage annulled if you have been separated a certain length of time. I suggest contacting a lawyer on that one. Also if you file for divorce because your unable to contact the other person because they vacated the marriage annulment can be granted! What your usually made to do is file and list the divorce in the news paper for a certain amount of days! If you receive no response usually its granted!
