If it allows him to be comfortable and his allergies are severe enough to interfere with every day life, then yes I would have my child see an allergist and take medication when needed. Some people just have awful allergies that need medication to control. My scary thought would be my child being constantly uncomfortable with a runny nose and sneezing without any relief.
