Just because it happened at 13 or 14 doesn't matter. You are still 17! Records aren't sealed until 18. What you have to look at is what did it come down to. Your shoplifting charge, was it a misdermeaner or a felony. If it was a misdermeaner you do not have to disclose this information. If it was a Felony, it has to be disclosed. More than likely, shoplifting is a misdermeaner unless you stole over $500 which is grand theft. 18 or not, sealed or not sealed, if it is a felony on your record it can still come up. As an example, when my brother was 16 got arrested for acid. He has grown up and is now 26 and his sealed records is why he can't move on from his past. Be honest, it was misdermeaner which you do not have to disclose unless asked. They only ask about felonies, I think you are in the clear.
