There will always be these people full of fear and doubt who will try to discourage you from reaching out for an exciting life. Ignore them. Actually, people in Ireland tend to have favorable attitudes towards Americans. Most people understand that you are not responsible for the actions of people like Bush. You might hear some criticism of Bush's policies from people. That won't hurt you. The idea that Americans should not go to Ireland because Bush is an idiot is BS.
