A multitude of people who are angry, bitter over the economy and people who aren't like them. Play identity politics and blame another group (Jews) or in this case Republicans. Along comes a charismatic leader who was an architecture school failure and appeals to the masses and promises a change. People love to hear him speak. The far left wing is often called socialist.
