| Yes it can happen! I was 25 when I was pregnant with my daughter. During my pregnancy I developed out of nowhere a bad allergy to sulfites. I was eating bread with red wine vinegarette at a local restaurant, which I had eaten many times before and my throat began to swell and my lips and tongue got numb and I started having trouble breathing. It happened again with other things that had sulfites. Craziness! Now, she is 15 months old and the allergy is gone. However I am now getting spring-time allergies that I have never had before. Sneezing, plugged up nose every morning. My daughter's allergist says allergies can come about at any time, and yes, pregnancy seems to somehow trigger them sometimes. Weird, isn't it? You could always see an allergist if it bothers you too much. My daughter takes Benadryl for her allergies and it helps take her "itchies" away. You could try that first since it's OTC. |
