All pets need to have annual checkup at the vet and despite
the fact your cat stays indoors it would be wise to have it immunized. From what I understand, infectious diseases lie dormant in soil for many,many years and can be stirred up by your cats paws should he/she escape. When your cat cleans it's paws the disease gets introduced. Case in point, were farm kittens, taken to live with me in my home in the forest, and later they contracted distemper. I'll never forget how bad I felt. It was horrible. I learned a valuable lesson from it.
