After tech school, if you two are married you can live on base together if there's married housing available. If not they'll give you money in addition to his base pay to cover rent for living off base (known as BAH pay).

If unmarried, he'll be a single airman. As such, if there are single airman quarters (dorms) available, he'll be required to live on base for a period of 3 years, unless and until he gets a valid waiver to live off base, gets married and therefore qualifies for married housing status, or otherwise. After that three years, you're TECHNICALLY not to live together with a girlfriend (the UCMJ still bans "fornication"), but almost no commanders ever enforce that policy, as there's no way to tell without invasion of a person's private life.
