| Boyfriend going to Air Force, ways to cope?
I have been in the army for almost 3 years now; I am currently deployed in the middle east. I have a g/f of 14months back in the states. When I first left to come here(overseas), she was not the same for a long time. She didn't start acting like herself until she started going back to school and got a better job with lots of hours. So Pretty much; stay busy and it will make things easy for you two. You shouldn't be worried about the AF sending your bf overseas, he should be out of harm's way on an AF base. I'm not 100% positive, but all the AF people i've talked to around here are only on 4-month deployments, which is not long at all. I have been gone for 4 months, and the time has gone real quick. I still have another 11 months (stupid 15month army deployments lol). Yes, the military does pay for your college, and yes, they can take you out of it for deployments, but on every major base or post overseas, they will have an education center where soldiers and airmen (maybe even seamen haha) can take college courses for free.
