| A question on Egyptian etiquette and invitations to dinner.?
My mom is coming to visit from Egypt, I was born and raised here and got married to a full on Egyptian, however, both of my parents are Egyptian nationals. Anyways, ever since I have gotten married to a full on Egyptian my mom expects that my Egyptian etiquette will be perfect. So, she is coming for a week with my two other siblings. My husband will not be in town at that time for work reasons. They are staying in a nearby hotel (our place is too small) and I will be seeing them on a daily basis. When we go out am I supposed to invite them because they are the visitors or is she supposed to invite me because she is the older one/ my mom? Please give me some input. Does it work differently if this was my mother-in-law? |
