Is there a website that can teach me how to speak japanese without having to download or pay something if I sign up? Are there any books that would help me that I could get at like, Borders or Barnes and Noble? Why are there different meanings to the same word in japanese? doesn't that make learning japanese more difficult? I'm 14, and rellay want to learn it so thanks for answering

Okay, so I probably should've mentioned I'm going alone, no tutors or teachers. And I understand that the English language has different meanings for the same word. However, those words have different spellings, not like in japanese where nan, nanra, donna, nani, ikan, nanto, nanigoto all mean What. So what's the deal with that? That's what I'm trying to get at when asking that.I don't think I'm being very clear, and that's a bad thing. So why are there so many different ways to certain words?
