Helloitsme is on a distinguished road
how can i get my mom to let me go to the movies?

Your mom loves you and wants you to be safe. My daughter is 19, and it has amazed me that she wants to take trips all the time. When she was 16 I would have let her go to the movies 60 miles away. With those big brown eyes she could pretty much talk me into anything.Who plans to drive? Have you made trips like this before? I'm a mom, and I believe the best approach is to introduce your local friends. Have them come over and hang out with you and your mom so she can see they are okay. Maybe see if she can talk to their moms. My daughter's friends' moms have called me before when my daughter was driving everyone somewhere.Another suggestion is to offer to do something for your mom, or better yet clean the house without being asked! When I come home to a clean house, I know something is up, but I also know I don't have to do housework at the end of a busy day.Promise to wear your seatbelt and call your mom on the way, when you get there, and before you leave.I don't know your mom, and we're all different. If she is the overprotective type, there may not be anything you can say or do to convince her to let you go. If she's the type you can negotiate with, you have a chance. Just remember, we love our kids and want them safe. If she says no, she's not being mean. Believe it or not, it really hurts when we have to say no to something our kids want to do. But sometimes they want to do things that just don't feel right. Good luck. I really do hope it works out for you.
