I am drawing illustrations for a children's book, what should i use for final draft. paper, color editing prog

depending on type of medium you're using to create illustrations, pencil, watercolor, pen&ink, this is what would be best to edit first, the paper could be of heavier quality for durability,on the original, also base the decision, on what the author of the books wants , then the image can be transfered to the book via the printers options,...most image editors like photoshop and paint shop pro, can retouch images, another way would be to use illustrator, and between the two should be able to export to a file suitable to use for final print, if you have a scanner already, just scan as image with higher resolution ~300+dpi , then open in editor of choice, find out what printers of book need in file format and save/ export to file ans save on disk/ cd..image toolsGIMPhttp://www.gimp.org/Inkscape.
