hi wow it was dedicated of you to type up this whole poem, here's what i see in it-the author generally keeps to an aabccb rhyme scheme, which means that the first and second lines rhyme with each other and then the third rhymes with the last and the fourth and fifth rhyme. however, the author varies this slightly in stanzas 1 and 4.the author uses repetition in constantly mentioning eldorado. he ends off every stanza with a sentence using the word" eldorado". ( if you say this, bring one or two as hard proof.)also when the "shade" replies he repetitively states; "ride, boldly ride."the author also uses details and imagery to vivdly portray certain things- in stanza one, the knight is described both as "gayly bedight" and "gallant". imagery and metaphor can also be seen in the last stanza where the author states;" over the mountains/ of the moon/ down the valley of the shadow"- mountains of the moon must be a metaphor as moons do not have mountains and the whole sentence brings up a picture in the reader's mind, which is imagery. The author additionally uses personification by having his character speak to a "shadow" and have it answer back.the author uses assonance ( sound repetition) and alliteration in stanza 1 - "gayly" and Gallant both begin with g and then sunshine and shadow both have th sh sound. figurative language can be shown when the author states that " oer his heart a shadow fell" for the author does not mean this literally, rather he means the knight began despairing.good luck!
