quilter has a spectacular aura about
From your description of your symptoms, it sounds as though you may have the flu bug that's going around. My kids have it, also. No fun.

Don't worry, it won't hurt you this once to have mixed aspirin with tylenol. Just try to remember not to in the future. You may experience a bit of relief if you can get ahold of some "Airborne," an over the counter medicine with some herbs which help the body to fight off the flu and colds. It comes in tablets which you drop into a cup of water, just like Alka-Seltzer. When taken at the first sign of illness, three times a day for three days, you will be completely better. The mistake most people make is that, since they start feeling so much better by the second day, they forget to take it for the full three days, and the symptoms return. Then it's too late, although they won't get as sick as they otherwise would have.

In addition to the Airborne, an all-inclusive cold pill, such as Comtrex, has several ingredients which can help relieve your symptoms, such as a medicine for pain/fever, a cough suppressant, and a medicine for stuffy noses. Also, if you have a cough, it is not enough to just suppress it; you need a de-congestant, which helps to loosen the stuff that you are coughing up. Otherwise, you just cough and cough, and you can't stop because the "gunk" is stuck in your bronchial tube and your natural reflex is to try to cough it up. You will probably have to buy that separately; I have not been able to find any multi-symptom cold or flu medicine with it. One of the brands for it is Mucinex. If you are taking the multi-symptom cold medicine, be sure to get the Mucinex that is only an expectorant, not the one that's and expectorant AND a cough suppressant, because the multi-symptom cold med already has the cough suppressant in it. And you can keep taking the throat losenges/ cough drops.

Hope you feel better real soon. If there's one good thing about illness, it is that it makes us grateful for good health once we get better. heh heh
