I think you have the wrong link...
However, I think the Democratic Party should NOT apologize for supporting slavery. The Democratic Party of today and that of the 1800's is now very different. The United States has already issued an apology for slavery, as have many other nations. I think this is sufficient, as
1) No one from the Democratic Party before the Civil War is now still alive.
2) No former slaves in America are now alive.
