Once you legally married in one country, most of the country's legal system will recognise it. There's some technicality of having to have your Thai mariage certificate being translated and certified by Thai Embassy before it can be used as legal document in England.
But, I don't see that as necessary since you want to divorce him anyway. You've better do that in Thailand. Get a lawyer and pursue the course. I think that's the best way.
