This testing isn't really affected by normal eating habits. Unless you ate an obscene amount of jelly bellies.

I had my glucose test when I was pregnant with my first and even though I didn't eat anything a few hours before the test, it still came back slightly elevated. I had to do the 3 hour test too and that came out OK - no gestational diabetes.

When I was pregnant with my twins, I asked my doctor if I was supposed to stay off sweet stuff before the test and he said no. And thank goodness that that time I didn't need to do the 3 hour test.
