You want them all together?
Well, depending on their colors, you should get a contrasting backround color. For example, gray/black cat with pretty blue eyes=red backround.
I have this book about photography and it has an animal portion in it, so you might be able to get a nice book from a bookstore about it. I just went to Borders, but I think I looked through all of the books to see which one was best.
For individuals, put them in one of the side thirds of the picture because it adds more effect instead of them being dead-center.
You could have them all sitting together with the cat and dog next to each other, the rabbit in front, and the guinea pigs doing whatever represents their personalities. Unless they don't get along...
