can you please be a little more specific. As far as I know cancer originates in cancer cells. These are mutant cells that divide at an alarming rate. Normal cells will divide at a pretty slow rate. Cancer cells divide much much faster. The problem with cancer cells is that they create tissues or tumors which contain hundreds of cancer cells. Many people have these mutant cells in their bodies but they never develop into cancer. For some people, however, environmental conditions will cause these cells to develop. some times it's radiation or something of the sort. The exact cause of cancer is unknown because there are so many different types and thats why a cure has not been developed. Fire flashing at you isn't a factor that could cause cancer as far as I know but I don't know exactly what you mean by fire flashing at you.
