i understand adverbs, and i'm usually good at english. i completed all of my english homework, but these are some that i'm not sure about.
Write each adverb and the word it modifies. There may be more than one adverb in a sentence.
1. They became professionals when they were only 17 and 16.
I put
ADVERB

nly
WORD IT MODIFIES: 17 and 16
but an adverb is supposed to modify a verb, adjective, or another adverb. and "17 and 16" is not an adjective, or is it?!
here are more i didnt understand:
2.They may ascend trees daily if their services are needed.
3. They work very carefully when they are up in the tops of trees.
4. The two teenagers climb high in order to cut branches that might suddenly fall on a house or wire.
OK SO ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IT PICK OUT THE ADVERB(S) AND THE WORD IT MODIFIES..i'm really not sure about these. HELP!
isn't HIGH a verb?? please someone help
Maybe???, I'm sorry but you're a dumb ass! You are obviously not an English teacher because there are MANY adverbs that do not end in -ly.
