My husband and I have been looking at houses with a real estate agent for some time now. We have not yet found what we'd like, and our life situation has changed since we began looking at houses. It's now looking as if we will have to postpone purchasing a home, and we're not sure how to break it to our agent or what the etiquette is when it comes to that?

We still want to buy a home eventually, just not nearly as soon as we'd thought originally. Thanks.
I'm wondering, would it be a nice gesture to get her a gift card to the coffee shop or something? or do we owe her nothing?
