I think she's a bit insecure. It's just a phase. Be there for her when the other girl "dumps" her. Don't drop her! She'll need you when the girl is truly mean to her. Back away a little, and see if she notices. Like, not calling her as often or not e-mailing her as often. And avoid her slightly at school.
