What is the crusty skin condition on my cat?

Yoshi is one year old, black and white shorthair cat. He lives indoors, and doesn't come in contact with any other cats, except maybe through closed windows. I also have a five year old shih tzu, and almost two year old hooded rat.

The actual problem is a bump on his back, under the fur. It is grayish-brown, and crusty. Some of it picked off leads to blood underneith. It is about mainly round, though extends a bit into a line. He doesn't seem to be itching or licking it.

I don't know if this is relavent, though there's also a tiny bit of dried blood (I'm assuming) in the corner of his eye. It's much like the usual bits of dried goop that forms there in him and other cats, just with red pigment.

What is this, or where is a good website which I can find an answer on? I'm fifteen, though my parents are going to take Yosh to the vet soon. Although I'd like to have a general idea of what this might be. Thanks for any answers.
It's not around an injection site, he hasn't recieved one recently.
