Air Force ROTC or Army ROTC?

I am deciding on whether I should go with Air Force ROTC or Army ROTC. My plans are to go through college and then medical school immediately following college. I just wanted to know if anyone had any opinions of what would be a better choice? I am planning on going as a commissioned officer, not enlisted. Are there better opportunities to go with Air Force or with Army if I want to pursue a career in a medical field, such as surgical?

First, schedule an appointment with an OFFICER recruiter, not one that enlists Officers and Enlisted, just Officers. Why? Recommendations for your choice of schools, requirements you must maintain, fitness obligations, etc., can be discussed.

Your school not only must be qualified by the branch of service but must offer courses of study most suitable for acceptance to Medical School. If your objective is to continue higher education through medical school paid by the government research options to insure acceptance.

The college/university you attend with ROTC programs maintain a O-in-C, Officer-in-Charge. These professionals are extremely helpful and initial contacts by you is helpful as well because your continuance to "obligate" to the military is, recommended/or not, by the O-in-C.

As a medical professional either Air Force or Army will be a field in much demand. An Officer recruiter from each branch can explain "promotion cycles" as well for advancement. Your decision of either may be determined which has the most accelerated promotions (Increased income, rank, etc.).

Good Luck, stay positive, interview and do your research. You have the time so do not make a "quick" decision now.

Either ROTC Program is great, top shelf so go with the one you want. You can go from either program in to any other branch of service to include Navy and USMC.

Personally, I would go Army. The Army is literally 5x the size of the Air Force so opportunities and demand will always be higher. Also, Army Medical is on the cutting edge of trauma medicine (for oubvious reasons). Promotions tend to be faster as well.
