USAF Active duty physician?

I am interested in becoming a doctor and it seems like the best route for me is to join the United States Air Force. I don't know much about the path to becoming a doctor so I am seeking guidance. I found on the USAF website that you can sign up for scholarship that pays $15,000 a year for three years, then you are committed to four years of service. One of the roles availible is Nurse. Is it possible after you become a nurse to jump right into medical school to become a doctor? And, would this be acceptable or do I have to graduate from a university other than the Air Force?
