Air Force Wife has a spectacular aura about
My husband in USAF BMT...Called today?

Well he called one week after he arrived and gave the adress. I think we talked like 3 minutes, and that was it. This is now his i think 3rd week, and he actually got to call me today and talk for 15 minutes. He said he had been kissing ass and obeying, so he and 3 other people out of 45 got to call their wife. Will he get these privileges again? and what did he have to do to earn it? like what extra did he do over the others? and is there a good chance of him being an honor graduate?

I was so worried becsaue he hadn't written me back that maybe he didn't want to be with me anymore or something, and when he called today he said it was soooo good hear my voice and he started crying and telling me he missed me. He also said he was sorry for yelling at me because he knows how it feels. HAHA. (just thought I would share that.)

Things like phone privileges are earned by keeping your nose clean, getting zero demerits, not having stuff out of place in inspections, doing well on tests, etc etc.

That he's doing well so early is a good thing, but we've all seem people start like gangbusters and fade, or slow starters pull through at the end.

To be honest, all he needs to do at BMT is finish - even at tech school no-one will care if he was first or last... but don't tell HIM that.... Sgts hate people who're 'coasting' :-)

They get busy, they demand alot of them. They DO have to kiss alot of butt sometimes to get the priviledges that we take for granted, like the phone & internet.

I know, i'm an army wife myself.. my hubby just returned from a 15 month deployment about 6 months ago and it was ROUGH! (VERY stressful.)

People deal with stress of being away from the ones they love in different ways, i'm sure you two will be ok.

You have to realize this is not summer camp and that they have someone on their a*s every minute of the day. They do not have the time to write and he is very lucky to get to call in the third week. He must have been in "Candy land". Most people do not get to call until their 6th week.

uggh yeah BCT is not like summer camp and hes damn lucky he got to call. Dont think that because he dont answer mean its all over. He is generally busy from the time he wakes up till the time he goes to bed there is not alot of time for "free time"
